Charge-induced dry concentration of lithium-containing components in fine slag powders
Contact: Mehran Javadi
Triboelectric separation is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method for separating non-conductive fine powders, which is widely used in mineral processing and the pharmaceutical industry. This project will be expanded to include the sorting of fine artificial slag powders. In addition to the many parameters that influence triboelectric charging, the widely varying properties of slag powders—which depend on their composition, cooling kinetics, and comminution process—make this a challenging task. Therefore, the goal is to develop a flexible process that can be tailored to the properties of the specific powder by controlling the contact potential. Here, the focus is on lithium-containing fine slag components; however, the flexibility of the process also allows for the use of other target materials.
