Laser diffraction is a common method for quickly and reliably determining particle size distributions. A laser beam produces a diffraction pattern, which is analyzed by an optical sensor. Depending on the dispersion system, either a gas aerosol stream or a cuvette is illuminated, thereby recording the particle size distribution.
