Charge-induced dry concentration of lithium-containing components in fine slag powders

Ansprechpartner: Mehran Javadi

Triboelectric separation is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method for separating non-conductive fine powders, which is widely used in mineral processing and pharmaceuticals. This project will be extended to the sorting of fine artificial slag powders. In addition to the many parameters influencing triboelectric charging, the widely varying properties of slag powders, which depend on the composition, cooling kinetics, and comminution process, make this a challenging task. Therefore, a flexible process is intended that may be tailored to the properties of the powder in question by controlling the contact potential.  Here, the focus is on lithium-containing fine slag components; however, the flexibility of the process also allows the use of other target materials.
