Thermogravimetric analysis – TGA (Netzsch)
Measured variable: Mass m=f(T) (offline)
The mass loss of a sample as a function of temperature can be determined using TGA. This measurement technique is particularly relevant for spray synthesis processes that use chemical precursors which decompose at certain temperatures and form particles. It also provides information on residual moisture content and decomposition temperatures. TGA can be coupled with FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer).
